Life in prison is the sentence for an Arkansas doctor convicted in a car bombing last summer.

Dr. Randeep Mann, of London (Pope County) was sentenced this afternoon in Federal Court in Little Rock. In addition to the life sentence, he was also ordered to serve time concurrently on other charges related to the case included in his conviction last August.

Mann was found guilty of seven out of eight charges in the February 2009 car bombing outside the West Memphis home of Dr. Trent Pierce, the chairman of the State Medical Board. It took Pierce months to recover from his injuries.

The guilty verdict was reached on the charges of conspiracy to aid and abed the use of a weapon of mass destruction, possession of unregistered firearms, and conspiracy to obstruct official proceedings.

Mann was found not guilty on the sole count of possession of an unregistered shotgun.

Meanwhile, Mann's wife Sangeeta "Sue" Mann, who was found guilty of obstructing an official proceeding, was sentenced to one year in prison.
