Arkansas Fishing Report with Big Sarge (Feb. 21 - 25)

Hey Cody, real quick right now, I want to be able to explain to all the viewers, the bass fishing right now on all the lakes are almost doing the same thing, they're kind of moving up stations on the pores and pockets. Can we explain some a little bit about that?
"Sure, well, no matter what body of water you're on, especially this time of year, it's warmer, days get longer, fish start moving, people start moving, there are more people on the lake and there's a reason for it, cause they're going to push themselves into a lot better location, easier to catch."
"What they're doing is they're going to start moving up, all these red dashes, that's the main river channel, a free channel that feeds these pockets. These fish are going to follow in using this deeper water in this shallow water access and end up spawning here in the next 30 - 60 days. Basically anywhere you go right now, these fish are thinking about it."
Okay, that's good information right there. Now you can get a hold of Cody at fishgreersferry.com.
"Or you can call me on my cell phone at (501) 691-5701. I'll help you with any information on Greers Ferry or any other lake in Arkansas that I can help you with."
Okay anglers, your hot spots of the week -- Lake DeGray, Lake Ouachita. You need to use jerk baits, jigs or rattletrap right now. Concentrate on the secondary points to the back of the pockets.
This is Big Sarge and I'll see you next week.
CRAPPIE FISHING
Hot spot: Lake Conway
Fish 7 - 9 feet. Use 1/32oz. pearl white/pink head jigs. Gold Creek and Adams Lake.
Lake Chicot
Use black/chart jigs.
TROUT FISHING
Hot spot: Little Red River
Great time for fly fisherman. Browns/rainbows really good. Fish deep side of shoals. Egg pattern working well/nightcrawlers. For more information, call Billy at Lindsey's Resort, 1-800-305-8790.
BASS FISHING
Hot spot: Lake Ouachita
Fish outside grass line. Use big spinnerbaits 1 oz. to 2 oz. and crankbaits and rattletraps.
Greers Ferry
Jerkbait starting to work. Fish points and creek channels.
Lake DeGray
Use jigs and crankbaits.
STRIPER FISHING
Hot spot: Lake Ouachita
Jerkbaits are working well, maybe a week off from hitting topwater. Look for bait.
NOTE: Look at your map for creek channels that are real close to a point. That's where the fish will stage before going to the cove. If you cannot catch fish there, start moving toward the back.
