North Little Rock Police have arrested a man who allegedly caused quite a disturbance at a grocery store earlier this week when they say he urinated on food inside the Pershing Boulevard Kroger.

It happened Tuesday night, sending Jerry Patterson, 58, of North Little Rock, to jail. Police say he was drunk at the time.

Kroger managers told officers the man urinated on $500 worth of chicken and also ate a large package of ham, according to the incident report.

Patterson is charged with public intoxication, theft of property, and criminal mischief.

Police were called to the store to investigate a report of a drunk man who was being verbally aggressive with store workers.

Patterson was reported by officers to have been unsteady on his feet, smelled of alcohol, and had bloodshot eyes when they arrived on the scene.
