Training Tip 22 from Little Rock Marathon Coach Tom Singleton:

Now that we've got that 20-miler out of the way, taper begins.

Taper's one of our favorite words, it means we're winding down the training.

We're back down to scale, giving your body time to rest and recover.

Those are important things now that you're getting ready for race day.

You can always try the old taper scam too, which is, "You know, I'd take out the trash but you know I'm tapering, or, I can't do the dishes tonight because I'm tapering."

Just be careful, don't push it too far or you might be tapering with a frying pan up beside your head.

See you soon!
