Training Tip 20 from Little Rock Marathon Coach Tom Singleton:

Now that the mileages are getting longer, if you've been training with a friend or training with a group, now's a good time to get together to talk about race day strategy.

Not so much the strategy of win or lose but strategy of what if.

What if you're feeling great and I'm feeling not so great and I say go ahead without me and I'll see you at the finish line and what I really mean is, you couldn't possible leave me after you've trained with me for 22 weeks and make me go by myself.

Now's the time to get those things all straightened out so everybody knows where they stand. Don't lose a great friend that you made during the training program because you forgot to communicate.

Have a great race!
