Updated: January 27, 2011
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is investigating the death of the Bentonville student who died when a soccer goal post struck him at Elm Tree Elementary on Wednesday.

It happened around 2:30 in the afternoon on the school playground.

Apparently some other students were leaning against the goal when it  --  and they  --  toppled over onto nine-year-old Jonathan Nelson, fracturing his skull.

Two school nurses rendered first aid until paramedics could arrive and take him to Northwest Medical Center.

He died from his injuries a short time later.
