AR Lottery Says Play Responsibly despite Giant Mega Millions Jackpot

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: January 3, 2011
With the Mega Millions jackpot now at $330 Million for Tuesday night’s drawing, many Arkansans are talking about the lottery and thinking about playing.

As you do your thinking, the Arkansas Lottery Commission has some suggestions:
  • Remember that it’s only a game—trying to change your financial status is a bad reason to play.
  • Hope to win, yes!  Expect to win, no!
  • Be sure you don’t allow or encourage play by minors.
  • Play for fun, and enjoy daydreaming about what you’d do with $330,000,000.
The odds of winning any prize at all are about 1 in 40, and the chance of winning the jackpot is 1 in 95 million.

If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, help is available online (click here or here) or by calling 1-800-522-4700.
