Training Tip 14 from Little Rock Marathon Coach Hobbit Singleton:

It is time for a shoe check.

Most of us are going to need at least two pairs of shoes during our marathon training.

Now's a good time to look and see how many miles do I have left on the pair I'm training in.

You want to get at least a long mileage run and several runs during the week in before the marathon date.

Even seasoned runners and walkers who know what kind of shoes they wear, don't want to hit the start line

in a brand new pair of shoes.

This is also a good tip to tell Santa, that hey, I need a new pair of shoes for Christmas.
