Training Tip 11 from Little Rock Marathon Coach Tom Singleton:
This week's one of my favorite subjects, when you're training, are you working on eating and drinking while you run?
Remember, we talk about drinking every 20 minutes, eating about every 40 minutes, and using this as a baseline until you find out what works for you.
Your body is just like a car, it needs fuel to run the distance, and you need to learn how to put fuel into your car while you're on the run.
It's not something you want to do. Naturally, you're not hungry as you run for the most part, you may not even be thirsty, but you're sweating it out, you're burning up those calories, and in order to go that 26 or that 13 miles, you're going to need that extra fuel to get to that finish line.
So practice now and learn what works for you.
