Opening Ceremony of AR State Fair Features Army Parachute Team

The United States Army “Golden Knights” Parachute Team will perform a precision parachute descent to celebrate the beginning of the 2010 Arkansas State Fair on Friday at 4:23 p.m. in the parking lot on the east side of Barton Coliseum.

One of three aerial demonstration teams with the U.S. Department of Defense, the Golden Knights (click here for website) have performed at more than 15,000 shows in all 50 states and 48 countries since 1962.

Now a team made up of 91 men and women, the Golden Knights are known for aerial acrobatic maneuvers and formations that have wowed crowds around the world. This weekend, the team will also be performing at the Little Rock Air Force Base Air Show.

Following the demonstration, the Team will be available for media interviews, greeting fans and signing autographs.
