The wives, children, bosses and friends who supported some dedicated Arkansans during long deployments got a nod from the Air National Guard Sunday.

They were honored in a special ceremony at the Little Rock Air Force Base.

Air Guard Commander, Brigadier General Riley Porter, said these strong families are the backbone of the 189th Airlift Wing's continued service.

The 189th has 746 members.

They have completed recent deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan and the Horn of Africa.
