An observant White County Sheriff's deputy gets the credit for catching a Faulkner County murder suspect this weekend.

On Saturday morning, the White County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office to be on the lookout for Ronald A. Britton, 34 of Beebe.

Britton was suspected in the stabbing death of Michelle Asher, 26, of Greenbrier, whose body was found in her backyard on Saturday morning. Click here for that story.

Deputies immediately began searching the area west of Beebe to El Paso. While searching around El Paso, Deputy Foster Steward saw a man fitting the suspect's description, who was later identified as Britton.

Deputy Steward and Corporal Wayne Heathscott approached and positively identified Britton, who was taken into custody after a brief struggle and held for the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Department.
