Missouri Man Wins Massive Powerball Jackpot

By: Newsroom Solutions
Updated: April 23, 2010
Going in to Wednesday night's big Powerball drawing, Chris Shaw had less than 29 dollars in his bank account.

That, of course, was before the 20-year-old Missouri convenience store clerk became America's newest Powerball millionaire.

Shaw says he bought the winning ticket at the Break Time convenience store in Marshall, Missouri, where he's worked for the past several months.

Powerball officials say the single ticket with the winning numbers 11-34-41-49-55 and a Powerball of 20 is worth an estimated 258-million dollars.

Shaw now has to decide if he'll take 30 annual installments of about eight-point-six-million dollars each or the onetime cash "lump sum" amount of just under 125-million dollars.
