KARK 4 NEWS EXPANDS SPORTS DEPARTMENT
Introduces New Sports Director
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — April 12, 2010 — KARK 4 News has expanded its sports department to provide viewers with a more in-depth look into local sports. Since 2005 KARK 4 has been known for its extensive coverage of the Arkansas Razorbacks with the Razorback Nation Report live from Fayetteville. KARK 4 will continue its Razorback Nation Report but the daily sports segments will now focus on local high school and college sports as well.
KARK 4 News Director Rob Heverling said, “We have always covered high school sports very effectively with our Fearless brand, now we’re taking it a step further because we know how passionate the fans are.” Heverling went on to say, “One of the things we stand for is our in-depth coverage and the expansion of our sports department will allow us to go beyond just the scores of the game and dig deeper into what’s going on with local sports teams like UALR, UAPB, UCA…”
KARK 4 News has hired Sports Director Kerri O’Hara (click here for bio) as the new face for KARK 4 Sports. O’Hara, former News Anchor at WMBF in Myrtle Beach, SC, is ready to get started in Little Rock as baseball season gets going. “Sports is my passion but it’s the stories behind the teams and players that I really love to tell.” O’Hara went on to say, “This city has seen so many great things happen in sports this year, I can’t wait to report on what’s going to happen this year.”
O’Hara will anchor KARK 4 Sports In-Depth weekdays at 6PM, 7PM on KARZ and 10PM. KARK 4 Sports Anchor/Reporter Jake Hatley will report from the field and anchor the weekend sports segments. O’Hara’s first day on the air will be Wednesday April 14, 2010.
