2010 Little Rocker Kids Marathon

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: September 20, 2010

Eighty-six-year-old Lillian Carroll of Little Rock went to bed early last night so she would be done with her nightly nine-hour dialysis treatment in time to get up, dressed, and downtown to see her nine-year-old granddaughter, Maddy, run in this morning's Little Rockers Kids Marathon. See photos below.

Lillian was dropped off at the River Market by her daughter-in-law, Tiziana, who then left to find a parking place in the busy downtown area. She steered her walker straight to the finish line for a front row seat.

Maddy is a fifth-grader at Fulbright Elementary School in Little Rock. This is her fourth Kids Marathon – and her grandmother's first time to watch.

Lillian was later joined by Tiziana, and Maddy's older sister, Maggie, a senior at the University of Arkansas/Fayetteville. Maggie plans to run in the Hogeye Marathon in April.
