Press Release from Arkansas Scholarship Lottery:

The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery announced today that television station KARK, Channel 4, of Little Rock has been selected as the Draw Partner for Powerball® game results. The station will air live Powerball® drawings twice each week. Powerball® drawings take place at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, each Wednesday and Saturday evening at 9:59 p.m. CST.  At these times, KARK 4 and KNWA will broadcast the drawings into homes spread across a wide range of counties in Arkansas. KARK is providing the Powerball® broadcasts as a public service to all viewers.

“KARK is a great Arkansas institution which began broadcasting here more than 55 years ago,”  ASL Executive Director Ernie Passailaigue said on announcing the selection.  “All of us at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery agree with the KARK motto ‘Arkansas Matters,’ and we are very pleased to be affiliated with them and with KNWA. We appreciate their service, which adds to the fun and entertainment already central to our Lottery. We look forward to a great partnership.”

Nexstar Senior Vice President, Regional Manager and KARK 4 General Manager Rick Rogala said, "We are thrilled that KARK in Little Rock and KNWA in Fayetteville are the official Powerball® Draw Partners and that people can count on us to offer this service. We are proud to join the many top-rated stations across the country that air the Powerball® drawings, and we are honored to work with the ASL in bringing the drawings to television in Arkansas.”

KARK Anchor Bob Clausen will serve as Master of Ceremonies when Arkansas Powerball® kicks off Saturday night with a celebration in Little Rock’s River Market Pavilion. Those festivities begin at 9:00 p.m. and will include wheel spins, music from 94.1 FM radio station, prizes, refreshments, and the Powerball® Countdown—culminating in an eight-story ball drop (think New Year’s Eve in Times Square), marking the sale of the first Powerball® tickets in the state.
