Mega Millions Reaches 200-Million-Dollar Jackpot

By: Newsroom Solutions
Updated: October 15, 2009
Lotto frenzy is at a fever pitch as the Mega Millions jackpot is expected to climb to 200-million dollars Friday.

The jackpot grew larger because no player matched all the winning numbers from Tuesday night's 170-million-dollar drawing.

The odds of walking away with the grand prize tomorrow are roughly one in 175-million.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states. Texas is the only one that neighbors Arkansas.

The game's largest jackpot of 390-million dollars was set on March 6, 2007. That amount was also the record for the largest jackpot in North America.

Arkansas will begin selling Powerball tickets on October 31st, but the state does not participate in the Mega Millions game.
