Little Rock Marathon Announces Partnership with KARK

Updated: October 1, 2009
The Little Rock Marathon announced today it has reached an agreement with KARK, Channel 4, to become the official Broadcast Sponsor of the 2010 Little Rock Marathon Training Program.

As the Training Program’s broadcast partner, KARK will provide internet-based coverage of the training program, as well as special pre-race reports.

The Little Rock Marathon Training Program is a free running/walking program created to prepare individuals who plan to take part in one of the races next March and is a project of Little Rock Parks & Recreation. KARK joins Heart Clinic Arkansas, Academy Sports + Outdoors and ASICS in sponsoring the 2010 Training Program.

“We couldn’t be more pleased about the partnership with KARK,” said Gregg Herning, Little Rock Marathon Chairman. “KARK provides an ideal flagship for both race weekend coverage and pre-race education for our 10,000 participants.”

"One of the main things we concentrate on here at KARK is getting involved in our community," says Managing Editor Greg Yarbrough. "We want to be a part of large events in our state and are so proud to be a training sponsor for the 2010 Little Rock marathon. We know thousands of people from around our state and the country come here every spring to participate in this event. We're happy to help the athletes keep a healthy lifestyle and prepare for the race by providing training tips and weather forecasts each week on KARK 4 and ArkansasMatters.com."

The first official group training is October 3 and the training program finishes on race day.
