The winner of a nearly 260-million-dollar Powerball Lottery jackpot is a South Carolina man.

Solomon Jackson Jr. is a retired state department of revenue worker who said he played the lottery for one reason, to help education.

He said he doesn't plan to let the windfall change him because he's already retired with a decent income but wants to "do a bunch with it." Jackson added, quote, "somebody's going to be blessed."

The game, played on August 19th, had a cash payout of nearly 130-million-dollars.

Jackson hasn't decided yet which he'll take between the cash payout or the full jackpot paid in installments. Jackson bought his winning ticket in Columbia. The winning numbers were 14, 24, 31, 43, 51 and Powerball 27.

Arkansans will get their first chance to buy Powerball tickets on Halloween.

Ticket sales for the new State Lottery kick-off on September 28, when scratch-offs go on sale.
