The first day of school was delayed for some students in Searcy because of a break-in at the district's bus shop.

A tire valve stem was broken on 22 buses and had to be repaired before drivers could begin their routes this morning.

The Searcy Police Department was called in to investigate the break-in just before seven o'clock. It's believed the damage was done between six o'clock last night and six o'clock this morning. The bus shop gate wasn't locked.

The damage for the repairs to the tires was estimated at $125 for parts and labor. There are no suspects, but police say the culprits face misdemeanor criminal mischief and felony breaking or entering charges.
