The Arkansas Lottery Commission has taken the necessary steps to ensure ticket sales can begin on September 28th.

Hitches over the last week with vendor contracts were cleared in meetings today and contracts were approved for online tickets, scratch-off tickets and lottery advertising.

The commission says there are still concerns with how fast things are going to get the lottery up and running.

Hope for Arkansas also notes the speed with which the lottery is taking shape.

It says the state could set a world record for setting up a lottery. Executive Director Ernie Passailaigue has only been on the job since July 1.

On Thursday, Passalaigue said he's never felt better about the process.

"I'm happy, sometimes people say I don't smile enough," he said, "but I'm laidback and I'm happy."

State Senator Darrin Williams said, "September 28th is an aggressive date, I just hope we don't have any glitches."
