I Race For My Mother and Myself

Why I race......In prior races, I raced in honor of my Mom who lost her fight to breast cancer in February, 1991. This year, I will continue to race in her honor, but will also race for myself, as a breast cancer survivor. On August 4, 2009, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and was unable to race in last year's race due to the fact that I had a double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery on September 18, 2009. I look forward to October 17, when I will be able to race as a "breast cancer survivor."
