Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. announced today that Rick Rogala has been appointed Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for Nexstar's eleven markets in Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois and Indiana and as General Manager of NBC affiliate KARK-TV and myNetwork affiliate KARZ-TV in Little Rock, Arkansas. The appointment is effective July 6.
The appointment marks Rogala's return to Nexstar after a two year role as Vice President and General Manager of Media General's WCMH TV in Columbus, Ohio.
Rogala first joined Nexstar in 2005 as Vice President/General Manager of KARK-TV where he led the station in restoring its market leading position and strong local brand.
Through his efforts and initiatives, KARK elevated its news programming and service to local advertisers which led to increased local revenue. While at KARK, Rogala directed the launch of Nexstar's community web portal for the Little Rock market, ArkansasMatters.com, and oversaw the construction of a centralized master control, traffic and accounting hub for other Nexstar markets.
Prior to joining Nexstar, Rick held broadcast management positions in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Florida and began his career in the television broadcast industry in 1982.

Rogala follows Gayle Kiger who left KARK and Nexstar in April to join a Texas television station.
