One of the categories in the ongoing KARK 4 Community Service Awards project is the small corporate humanitarian for businesses with fewer than 100 employees.

A community-spirited business furniture dealer in Springdale is a finalist in that category.

Pat Shinall is an owner of Innovative Business Furniture in Springdale, and Janet Selby is a Sales and Design Associate.

Jennifer King is the Counselor and Assistant Principal at Mulberry High School, and a happy recipient of new office furniture.

"We're estimating that it's approximately $10,000 worth of furniture that was donated throughout the Mulberry High School school district," says King.

Janet Selby is a 1980 graduate of Mulberry High, and the gift of furniture was her idea.

"Actually I have had Walmart vendors in the past donate things to them, so when I called and I asked would you Innovative Business Furniture have any need, they were absolutely thrilled to get it," says Innovative's Janet Selby.

At Ozark Elementary in Franklin County, Charlotte Taff also got a gift of furniture from Innovative Business Furniture.

"You know, these are hard economic times for a lot of businesses.  we've had a lot of problems in our area, too, and I really appreciate them thinking about the schools," says Ozark Elementary School's Charlotte Taff. "You don't think about small businesses donating, but they've been very generous to our schools." "I feel like Innovative Business Furniture is setting a good example for other businesses in this line of business."

"We try to give back to the community and all communities, just because we are so blessed, and I think they are part of our success," says Innovative's Pat Shinall. "I do like that we're helpin' out smaller communities and helpin' out people in the community. It's just a good feelin'."
