Sci Fi Network Set for Cooler Image

By: RNS Newsroom Solutions
Updated: April 21, 2009
The Sci Fi network wants a less "geeky" image, so it's changing its name -- sort of.

Actually, the network is changing the spelling of the name to S-Y-F-Y beginning on July 7th.

Sci Fi president Dave Howe explains that is how you would spell Sci Fi in a text message, and the decision was reached with the help of a branding consultancy company.

According to Howe, changing the spelling, quote, "it made us feel much cooler, much more cutting-edge, much more hip, which was kind of bang-on what we wanted to achieve communication wise."
