Thousands of people turned out to
hear Pope Benedict deliver his Easter message Saturday night.
The Pope urged believers to rise
above what he called, quote the "confusions of this age" and follow
the teachings of the church.
Candles flickered inside the
basilica before the lights were turned on.
The gesture symbolizes the darkness
in the world after Christ's death and the light of resurrection.
