A couple of New Jersey men will pay fines and perform community service for creating a UFO hoax.
Chris Russo of Morris Plains and Joe Rudy of Chester Township admitted they tied road flares to helium balloons to make it appear that there was a UFO nearby.
According to the "Daily Record," they got in trouble for their actions with prosecutors arguing that the balloons caused an aviation threat.
Russo, along with Rudy, each pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct for the five incidents between January and February of this year when residents saw red lights in the Morris County sky.
They were fined 250-dollars each and ordered to perform 50 hours of community service.
