In his new gun control proposal, President Obama is offering to place armed police officers in schools that would like to have them.

Meanwhile, the National Rifle Association is demanding guns in schools, but we hadn't heard from those who will actually be in the classroom: teachers.

The National Teachers Association strongly supported Obama's proposals on Wednesday, but a lot of teachers across the nation remain split on whether firearms should be allowed in schools for the purpose of protecting faculty and students.

"I hear the same thing repeatedly, that arming teachers and people in the building is not going to solve the problem. What we need to do is have local law enforcement work with the districts and come up with solutions that work in their community," said Cathy Koehler, President of Little Rock Education Association.

Koehler also says they don't want schools to feel like a prison and for students to become uncomfortable because of weapons in the classroom.
