Report: Little Rock Ranked 5th Unhappiest US City to Work In

According to a list compiled by CareerBliss.com, Little Rock is the fifth unhappiest US city to work in.

Forbes.com says 36,000 employees all over the US were asked to review their experiences by evaluating 10 factors that contribute to workplace happiness.

These factors include:
  • relationship with boss
  • relationship with coworkers
  • work environment
  • job resources
  • compensation
  • growth opportunities
  • company culture
  • company reputation
  • daily tasks
  • control over the work one does on a daily basis

Each of these factors was evaluated on a five-point scale that was also designed to indicate how important they were to overall happiness.

Little Rock comes in fifth on the list of unhappiest cities to work in with an overall score of 3.70, according to the website.

  1. Dayton, Ohio
  2. Knoxville, Tenn.
  3. Honolulu, Hawaii
  4. Memphis, Tenn.
  5. Pittsburgh, Pa.
  6. Virginia Beach, Va.
  7. Grand Rapids, Mich.
  8. Trenton, N.J.
  9. St. Louis, Mo.
  10. Salt Lake City, Utah

Unhappiest US Cities to Work In:

  1. Boulder, Colo.
  2. Reno, Nev.
  3. Wichita, Kan.
  4. Fresno, Calif.
  5. Little Rock, Ark.
  6. Cleveland, Ohio
  7. El Paso, Texas
  8. Stockton, Calif.
  9. Allentown, Pa.
  10. Milwaukee, Wis.
