Governor Beebe Issues Emergency Declaration Due to Power Outages

Governor Beebe has made an oral emergency declaration to ease the dispatch of out-of-state power crews throughout Arkansas, according to his office.

There is currently no written declaration due to lack of personnel, but the appropriate outlets and agencies are being notified.

Entergy says its called in hundreds of workers and contractors to assist with power restoration. Currently, more than 200,000 Arkansans are in the dark. The majority of those customers are in the Little Rock area.
