A Federal Judge on Monday said the Pulaski County Special School District is still not doing enough to desegregate its campuses.

The judge did say the district is making strides and pointed out the four areas it needs to improve in.
  • Student Assignment
  • Advanced placement
  • Gifted and talented and honors program
  • Special education and staffing
Superintendent Dr. Jerry Guess said the ruling shows the PCSSD is making progress. "Parents and students should be encouraged, patrons of the district should be encouraged in that we are moving forward towards a declaration of unitary status," he said.

The district will go back before a judge in August.
