It's not only Thanksgiving week, it's also Beat LSU week in Arkansas.

A Little Rock elementary school hosted a tailgate party to mark the occasion.

The event at McDermott Elementary on Reservoir Road was titled "Dogs for Dads and Dudes." The theme illustrates the school's desire to attract more men on campus year-round for mentoring and support.

Experts say the presence of men on campuses can reduce bullying, inspire children and enhance the educational environment at your child's school.

Grilled hot dogs and chips were served, students wore football jerseys and McDermott's cheerleaders performed.

The "Dogs for Dads and Dudes" event is designed to draw more males to campus to serve as positive male role models for students.
