Update (August 11, 10:00 a.m.)
The deceased man has been identified as Donald O'Fallon, 43.
The man had allegedly been arguing with a woman for much of the day.
Police arrived to investigate, and say they believe O'Fallon had struck the woman in the head.
Contact was made with the suspect, and O'Fallon came out of the house with a weapon.
Police shot him.
He was pronounced dead at Baptist Hospital.
The investigation is continuing, the two officers have been placed on leave pending the outcome.
Police believe O'Fallon and the woman were in a relationship.
They were the only two people in the residence when police arrived.
Update (August 10, 11:50 p.m.):
Little Rock Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left one man dead Friday afternoon.
Little Rock Police Sgt. Cassandra Davis says three children ran from the home on Gillette Rd. to a neighbor's house and that neighbor then called police to alert them to a possible domestic disturbance issue between a man and a woman.
"Officers made contact, there was a verbal exchange, based on officers' fear, life threatening fear, officers did fire, striking at least once," said Sgt. Davis.
Authorities say the children and woman they encountered on the scene were not injured.
Original Story (August 10, 4:45 p.m.):
Little Rock Police are on the scene of a deadly shooting on Gillette Drive.
Officers responded to a disturbance between a man and woman Friday afternoon around 4:30 in the western Little Rock neighborhood.
A verbal exchange occurred between the man and officers, before one or possibly both officers opened fire, hitting the man.
Reports indicate that the man has died after the shooting.
His name is yet to be released.
It is currently unknown how many shots were fired or if the man was armed.
