Bone Marrow Drive for Pine Bluff Woman Set for Saturday Evening

Updated: August 3, 2012
A bone marrow drive is scheduled for Saturday evening for a 23-year-old Pine Bluff woman suffering from a rare blood disease.

Quinshuanita Thomas was diagnosed with Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria three months ago, and can only be cured by a bone marrow transplant.

Thomas and her family are asking minority donors to come out and join the marrow registry, a process that can be completed simply with a cheek swab sample.

The bone marrow drive takes place Saturday August 4 from 6-9 p.m. at the Trinity Church of God in Christ located at 700 S. Catalpa Street in Pine Bluff.

Tax deductible donations are also being accepted to help cover tissue typing costs.

Donations can be made by clicking here.
