Preparations are under way in Texarkana this afternoon for an event to support cancer patients.

Volunteers are setting up booths and fundraising stations for Texarkana's relay for life being held tonight at the Four states fair grounds.

Nearly 300 people are signed up to participate across about 30 teams.

The chapter's goal is to raise $50,000 through tonight's event.
