Officials with the Buffalo National River advise visitors to take the time to plan their visit and activities in advance in order to have the best experience possible.
As the busy Memorial Day weekend approaches, national park rangers remind everyone about some camping restrictions.
Camping with recreational vehicles (RVs) in the Kyle's Landing, Steel Creek and Carver campgrounds is NOT allowed since those areas are ONLY for walk-in tent camping.
Camping with RVs at Erbie is allowed but limited to 14 pull-through sites.
In addition to designated campgrounds/campsites, tent camping is also permitted on gravel bars that are naturally clear of vegetation, are within 100 feet of the river, and at least half a mile from any developed campground.
Visitors are also advised that quiet hours at all campgrounds are between the hours of 10PM and 6AM.
Park officials say respecting your neighbors in the campgrounds will go a long way to make everyone's visit a happy and safe one.
