On Tuesday, the BPD received a report about an attempted theft of property and potential scam.
A citizen reported that someone acting as a repossessor came to his house and tried to take a four-wheeler.
The man was described as a bald white male about 6'1" tall, weighing 225 pounds. He was driving a new body style, silver Dodge crew cab truck, which was pulling a black, beat up, goose neck trailer.
The person claimed to be a repossessor for GE and said he was sent because payments were past due. Police say the citizen was able to get him to leave without taking his four-wheeler.
Anyone with information about the identity of the individual, claiming to be a "repossessor" in this case, is encouraged to contact the Benton Police Department at (501) 778-1171 or (501) 315-TIPS.
Anonymous tips can be sent to CRIMES (274637) with the keyword BNPD in the body of the text.
The BPD urges anyone contacted by this individual to call 911 right away. The BPD also advises people not to confront the man, but try to get his license plate number.
