Chrysler is recalling more than 127,000 current model Dodge Chargers and Chrysler 300 vehicles.

The recall was issued because of potential problems in electrical stability control and anti-lock braking systems. According to a company filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a fuse may overheat and cause loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Chrysler says it is not aware of any crashes, injuries or fires actually happening because of this issue.

The recall affects Dodge Chargers and Chrysler 300 vehicles from the 2011 and 2012 model years.

Here is Chrysler's statement on the recall in full:
Chrysler Group LLC will conduct a voluntary safety recall of approximately 119,072 U.S.-market 2011 and 2012 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 sedans.

A plastic insert surrounding a fuse may be subject to distortion caused by thermal expansion and contraction. Such distortion could interrupt power to the ABS/ESC control system and temporarily suspend its function.

If the condition occurs, the ABS/ESC warning lamp will illuminate. However, basic brake function is still fully available.

Recalled vehicles, built prior to December 20, 2011, will be fitted a new fuse which also will be relocated.

Despite a small number of incidents, we concluded it was in the best interest of our customers to repair the vehicles and eliminate the potential for this condition to occur," said David Dillon, Head of Product Investigations and Campaigns, Chrysler Group LLC.

Chrysler Group LLC is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this condition.
