Dee Hoy and Charlotte Weddle were both unhappy, unhealthy and obese.
"I couldn't sit comfortably I couldn't drive comfortably. I actually wheezed sitting in a resting position,"says Waddle.
Attempts to lose weight resulted in repeated failure.
"We've got the Stewardess Diet, the Beverly Hills Diet. , of course the Grapefruit Diet... anything that came out that promised a miracle I tried it."says Hoy.
Each ended up at Weight Watchers.
"The magic formula is to eat less a move more."
"I believe strongly in the no diet-diet... that means concentrating on eating the right foods in the right amounts and staying active. That's really what Weight Watchers is all about. In fact a new study finds that Weight Watchers has been even more effective than diet plans managed by physicians. The reason is the ongoing support that the program provides."
"You just can go and get weighed and leave. I really believe it's the support of being able to listen to other people and talk to other people and share your successes and to share your failures."
Dee lost 96 pounds nine years ago.
"I finally figured out that there was no miracle."
Charlotte lost 232 pounds.
" I didn't do anything miraculous or incredible. I literally just did what they told me to do and it worked."
If you need the structure and support from a weight loss program, find one that emphasizes balanced meals, portion control, and exercise.
With anything else you'll still lose, not weight, just money.
