John Tyson, the chairman of Tyson Foods, has resigned from the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees, according to a report from arkansasnews.com.

Arkansas News says that in a letter addressed to Governor Mike Beebe, Tyson wrote that he had become "increasingly frustrated with the board's inability to make meaningful change in the structure and delivery of higher education in Arkansas."

A UA System spokesman declined to comment on the resignation. Tyson did not respond to Arkansas News' e-mail request for a comment.
