Siloam Springs Man Gets 15 Years for Mailing White Powder

A Siloam Springs man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for mailing threatening letters.
Philip G. Hanson, 57, was convicted in September for mailing threatening letters.
Some of the letters Hanson sent contained a white powder and caused the evacuations of banks, a post office, elementary school and a Siloam Springs business.
After four days of trial, Hanson was found guilty on 26 counts of mailing threatening communications and 30 counts of mailing white powder.

Hanson was indicted by a grand jury in March 2012, accused of sending the letters between October and November of 2011.
None of the white powdery substances Hanson mailed were found to be harmful.
