Arkansas' newest U.S. Representative is getting his assignments in congress.

During a town hall in El Dorado, Congressman Tom Cotton told the audience he's now part of the financial services and foreign relations committees.

Cotton answered questions from the crowd on everything from the debt ceiling and social security to jobs and health care, along with some rumors that he might already be considering a run for senate.

"I'm focused on doing the job that the people of Arkansas elected me to do," Cotton said. "I'm not laying any plans for re-election campaign right now or senate campaign. I'm just trying to do the job I was elected to do and serve the people of Arkansas."

Cotton's name has been mentioned as a possibility for the Republican nomination in the 2014 senate race against incumbent Democratic Senator Mark Pryor.
