Pulaski County Humane Society employees said donations have been slowly trickling in as word spread the shelter needed more bedding in order to keep the animals warm.

Employees have been staying at the shelter round the clock since it lost power and said donations make all the difference as they continue to take in strays.

"We found one chained to the gate," said shelter director Kay Simpson. "I mean we have no choice but to try and help them."

The shelter said you can help by bringing newspapers and blankets or fostering an animal overnight.
