Deadly Accident Kills Two in Pope County

Two people are dead after a wreck in Pope County.

34-year-old James Killer and 32-year-old Nicole Tackett died when the pickup they were riding in crashed just before 1:00 a.m. this morning.

It happened on Highway 27.

An initial report by the Arkansas State Police says the pickup failed to negotiate a curve and left the road, striking a tree.

The driver and passenger died on the scene.

Investigators do not think they were wearing seatbelts.
