Last year Little Rock voters passed a sales tax increase that included $38 million for economic development, and $22 million of that will go toward a technology research park.

Since planners started working on that park it has been mired in controversy because of its proposed location, within five minutes of both UALR and UAMS, potentially using eminent domain to kick residents out of their homes.

A protest against those plans is set for today from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at the Little Rock City Hall steps by the "We Shall Not Be Moved" coalition.
