Reported by: Newsroom Solutions, KARK 4 News Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 @07:30am CST The Philadelphia Phillies avoided elimination with an 8 to 6 win over the New York Yankees last night in Game Five of the World Series at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
Last night, two Arkansans were on opposing mounds. Pitching for Philadelphia was Cliff Lee from Benton, and for the Yankees, A.J. Burnett of North Little Rock. Chase Utley hit a three-run homer in the first and a solo shot in the seventh for the defending World Series champs. Utley has smacked five homers in the series to tie Reggie Jackson's record for the most in one Fall Classic. The Phillies still trail in the best-of-seven series three-games-to-two. The Yankees will host Game Six on Wednesday in the Bronx. |
