Tuesday, Oct 27, 2009 @09:03am CDT Southern Methodist University freshman Ryan Rosenbaum never dreamed his first college soccer shot on goal would garner more than 300,000 on YouTube and would be repeatedly shown on ESPN's SportsCenter.
In SMU's game with Tulsa on October 21st Rosenbaum's attempt to clear the ball downfield resulted in an extremely rare 95-yard goal.
As the ball caught the wind, the Tulsa player misplayed the ball by being too far out from the net.
The score put SMU up 3-to-1, and ended up being the game winner.
SMU beat 16th-ranked Tulsa 3-to-2.
On Monday Rosenbaum was named Conference USA Player of the Week for his first career shot.
