Friday, Nov 27, 2009 @10:54am CST (Cape Canaveral, FL) -- Space Shuttle Atlantis is safely back on the ground following its successful eleven-day mission to the International Space Station.
Clear blue skies and a crisp fall day welcomed home the crew that delivered 15-tons of spare parts to the outpost. Atlantis launched with six astronauts, but came home with seven. The shuttle brought home American flyer Nicole Stott who spent the past 91 days living in orbit with the crew of the space station. There are just five shuttle launches remaining with the next one tentatively set to launch in February. (Copyright 2009 by VERTEXNews/Newsroom Solutions) |
