  • Update: Four Arrested in Beating Death Face a Judge

    Three of the four suspects arrested for the beating death of a 57 year- old man appear in court this afternoon.

    Forty four year-old Apolinar Vargas, 24 year-old Jose Espanosa and 41 year-old Mario Nieto all pleaded not guilty.

    A 4th suspect, 48 year old Alex Vargas, was in court on Tuesday and, also pleaded not guilty.

    All four are charged with the murder of 57 year old Jose Mejia.

    His body was found November 8th in the weeds just off River Mountain Road near the I-430 bridge jogging trail.

    But, police believe the murder took place at an auto repair shop on Aspen Road in Pulaski County. They believe the motive was money.

    All four suspects will be back in court in January.
