Saturday, Nov 7, 2009 @11:15am CST A poll shows that while most California voters back same-sex marriage, they don't want the issue to be placed on the ballot next year.
The new "Los Angeles Times"-University of Southern California poll shows just over half of those surveyed favor marriage rights for same-sex couples. However, nearly 60 percent don't want to rehash it in 2010, just one election cycle after it last hit the ballot. Last year, Californians voted to limit marriage rights to one man and one woman. Supporters of same-sex marriage have weighed whether to press for a new vote next year or wait until 2012, when the presidential election will produce more voters.
